Mother’s Day Tea Party Preparations

The Mother’s Day Tea Party Preparations Begin!

We were getting ready for the Mother’s Day Tea Party. We were planning, fundraising, asking for donations, collecting all the china and  decorations for the tables.  It was very exciting! Donors were bringing clothes on a daily basis – casual business attire in all different sizes! Heidi Love provided brand new clothes and we took all the gently used garments to the cleaners so our guests would have fresh clothing to take with them.  HUGS (Hats, Umbrellas, Gloves, Scarves), a non-profit company based in New York, sent us beautiful scarves – so sweet of them!  Kerry Zajac, one of our volunteers, came all the way from Clearwater to decorate the rooms for us!  She was also the conduit for the scarves from HUGS USA.  She’s amazing!  The Mother’s Day Tea Party Preparations were under way!

So Much Help for the Mother’s Day Tea Party Preparations!

The Shoebox Project gave us 150 shoeboxes filled with make-up and thank you cards for the mentee guests – they were so generous for our Mother’s Day Tea Party Preparations!  Angie Blotcher  supplied us with beautiful Glam Nail coverings that were perfect for our make-up room.  There was no drying time and they were beautiful!  Brigitte Pepin was in charge of our Meditation Room and it was so peaceful and serene in there, thanks to her – it was just lovely!  Terry Dolan took care of things in the resume room.  She manned the computer with ease and turned all those written resumes into thumb drives so efficiently!  Rebecca Bratter, from Greenspoon Marder, along with her Kids Can group furnished bags with thumb drives, pens, stress balls, etc. that the ladies could take home.

Such Beautiful Gifts!

We were so thrilled with the cards that Sonia Robinson sent us for the mentors.  They were individual works of art!  No two were alike!  And then there was jewelry!  Oh my goodness – Terri from Eye Gotcha sent necklaces, Stacy Kanas got us all decked out with Pandora style bracelets, and Susan Zaret made sure everyone received a butterfly necklace.  We even had pins and earrings with the butterfly motif.  Just beautiful!  The Mother’s Day Tea Party Preparations were almost complete, but we still had to get food – and tea!  Tartastic came in with all the scones and Sweet Treats furnished the beautiful little cupcakes.

Thank You to All Who Helped Out!

Our volunteers were busy making sandwiches, setting up the tables and serving.  They were very busy ladies!  We want to thank Judi Word, Karen Pintado, and Shirley Mills for all their assistance in that area.  They were superb!  And last, but not least, we want to mention our photographer, Cheryl Devlin of Nature’s Paparazzi Photography – she was everywhere snapping pictures!  Thanks, Cheryl – in fact, thank you to everyone who made this wonderful day possible.  It’s YOU, the commUNITY, that keeps Showering Love going!
