Nova Southeastern Students Volunteer with Showering Love

Nova Southeastern students volunteer in Miami

The Nova Southeastern University students have been volunteering with Showering Love for several months now.  It is time to give them a big shout out – they’ve been so helpful.  The graciousness with which they have worked with us is so nice to see in young people! And their commitment makes them a real asset to the team.  Initially we had Aparna, who helped us with the Valentine’s Day event –  she ran around taking pictures and video of all the love!  Then we got 2 of her colleagues, Aisha and Hasibah, to help out  – they manned the bus in Miami for Smile Day. What a great job they did!!

Here they are, prepping for Daisies!

Then when we geared up for Easter, more Nova Southeastern students showed up to help us organize our supplies and prepare for the Daisies who were coming in to color eggs.  They were real troopers, those young people!  We so appreciate their energy and enthusiasm.  You could just tell they were having such fun!

Nova Southeastern Bunny Helpers

When we did the big Egg-stravaganza at Double Flush Stables, we had still more Nova Southeastern students!  They guided our guests to the petting zoo, they helped with the pony rides, and they organized the parking.  We depended on them and they came through!  They were bunny hopping all over the place!

Podiatry Students

And we’re still getting even more help from the wonderful volunteer Nova Southeastern students!  Recently they came out with us to Sunset Presbyterian Church where we were providing showers for those in need.  These were the Podiatry students and they gave such a good talk and presentation on taking care of feet and hands!  Good job!

Pulmonary Students

And finally we had a great Pulmonary presentation by the last group of Nova Southeastern students.  They explained the problems associated with emphysema and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or COPD.  They even demonstrated a method for helping those who become short of breath to regain their normal breathing patterns!

Thank You, Nova Southeastern!!

We want to thank all the Nova Southeastern students who have helped us so much this year!  We are very grateful for their ongoing support!  Our aim is to restore dignity and share hope with those who are experiencing housing insecurity by providing showers and by partnering with organizations like Nova Southeastern.  Together we can help our community become healthier and happier!!

Only your support allows us to provide hope and dignity
