Each year we invite members of the community to spend a night at our annual…
“The event in Ft. Lauderdale this past weekend was full of warm and healing love. Our customers were able to eat a warm breakfast surrounded by others in a safe and God-loving environment while listening to worship music. Outside, they were able to wash off the grime and sweat of a typical South Florida day, regardless that it’s February!”
“One of my favorite memories was being able to provide one of our participants with a brand new pair of sneakers when previously he had no shoes! The look of pure joy and gratitude on his face was so genuine; it warmed my heart.”
We often hear expressions of gratitude from our guests – can you imagine how it feels to have no access to a shower for weeks on end? And then they see Grace coming – literally and figuratively! They know that the long wait is almost over! They can get rid of the soil and toil of the previous week – they are so grateful!!
Melissa’s the one in the hat!!
“At the end of the event, you could look over to the shade of the building and see three of our freshly bathed participants, laughing and sharing stories with ear-to-ear smiles on their faces. Such a basic human need being granted to them, had me reflecting on the abundant blessings in my own life.”
“The loudest memory of the event was the powwow the volunteers had afterwards. I quietly asked “what more can we do to aid people who are experiencing homelessness?” My fellow volunteers were so loving and gracious to my silly questions. We discussed how God asks us to give, and to give without stipulations. Not to ask yourself ‘what will this person do with this money?’, but to only act out God’s calling with love and respect. Since this event I feel a freedom in not second guessing my help, but just providing what God has called me to do.”
Thank you for being loving and caring
