Showering Love won the top Nonprofit Organization of the Year Rising Star award at this year’s 211 Awards, hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood Florida.
In attendance, there were over 600 Broward County Nonprofits vying for similar honors. Our CEO Jeanne Albaugh was visibly emotional and grateful at the honor, she ended her acceptance speech with this memorable quote:
“Everyone in this room is changing the word and making it a better place.”
Below is a letter from one of our board members Jack Jaiven that best describes the moment:
“On Tuesday, I attended the Annual Community Care Plan Non-Profit Awards at the Hard Rock. This brought together more than 600 Broward philanthropic leaders. As a proud supporter and Board member of Showering Love, one of the Award Nominees, I felt honored when our organization was selected as one of 3 Finalists in the ‘Rising Star’ category from nearly 9,000 registered non-profit organizations in Broward County. Showering Love’s selection as the winner in this category was a well-deserved achievement. This filled me with immense pride in our organization and the positive impact we are making. Our team’s hard work and dedication to making a positive impact in the community paid off tremendously.
I surely understood why Showering Love’s amazing Founder and CEO, Jeannie Albaugh, shed some tears as she accepted the Award. Through Jeannie’s leadership, dedication, and creativity, Showering Love has successfully provided many critical services to those experiencing homelessness. Showering Love’s mission is to restore their dignity.
I applaud and congratulate Showering Love for winning this prestigious award. In fact, I applaud ALL the Nominees and Finalists. They all make a huge difference in our community!”
